why aren't your costumes exact copies of madonna's like lots of other impersonators? i do have and use replica costumes for the big production shows that i'm in. these shows have a backstage crew, and dressers to help with quick changes from one costume to another. when i am performing in berlin, my set is 20 minutes long. i go through three hairstyles, three pairs of shoes, and four costumes in that small amount of time. what about your costumes and photos? on to replicating photos....copying photos of madonna to a tee is an art in itself, but most of the time, it is the result of make up artists, wig stylists, lighting, and photo shop. i do my own hair and make up because i want to give a realistic impression of how i will show up to your event, so unless i can afford to fly a team of stylists around with me to my gigs, i won't use them for photo shoots. if people can look at one of my photos and think it looks like madonna, then that is all i need to market myself. i am working on some copycat photos with a great photographer for a project, but primarily, i have stayed away from that concept. do you really sing live? yes, my singing is always totally live. if i didn't sing live, i wouldn't be doing this for a living. i think that it's one of my strongest points. if i saw an impersonator singing over the original track, or with themselves, or miming altogether, it wouldn't impress me. live singers have the ability to truly entertain an audience on several levels, and are able to communicate and connect with the audience.

have you ever met madonna? i have never met madonna. i know or have met a lot of people who do know her. a good friend of mine is luis camacho. he is such a great guy. he toured with madonna, and choreographed "vogue" when he was just a baby. oliver crumes is also my buddy. we toured japan together. ollie and luis are both in the documentary of the blonde ambition tour ("truth or dare", or "in bed with madonna", depending on which side of the pond you're on). does madonna know about you? i have no idea. why aren't you pursuing your own career instead of pretending to be somebody else? hmm. i never had the desire for fame. this business, as ridiculous as it seems, is an art form in itself. before you judge, you should see a major production show, like "legends in concert" or "stars in concert" in berlin. a lot of effort goes into this, and just like many other aspects of a career onstage, it is like playing a part. i enjoy what i do, and i have had a very fulfilling career entertaining people all over the world. when i stop doing this, i will have endless memories, and a great story to tell. that's all i wanted my life to be. |
